SpringHill Suites by Marriott Savannah Richmond Hill
6/10 Okay
"Pros: Check in staff was friendly. We checked in on a Wednesday around 9pm and checked out the next Thursday around 8:30 am. Hotel is new and is nice. Breakfast was decent- could have had more hot choices- but for a free hotel breakfast- it suffices.
Cons: Lets talk about the train. After booking a non-refundable rate- I read up on some recent reviews and was made aware of the train that is VERY close to the back of the property. We were told by the check in staff that the train "doesn't make any noise- only vibrations". This is not true. The train is very loud and made multiple trips up and down the track during our 12 hour stay. If you need a good sleep- do not stay here. I will guess we heard the train at least 4 times overnight. This was my fault as I should have read the reviews before booking.
Now let's discuss breakfast and the TV's all tuned to Fox News. Let's be real people- not all of us tune into this crap. It would have been nice to not have to listen to this junk while eating my bagel and drinking my coffee. Did I say anything? No- because I am not that person- but please- turn to the Weather Channel or HGTV.
The room was clean- other than the sofa and ottoman. Lots of white residue? "
"No carpet wow. Really nice room quiet (no street sounds) and comfortable bed and pillows. It’s rare. The breakfast buffet was perfect with something warm (eggs, meat, potatoes) and something cold (cereal, yogourt, apples). Waffles and different kind of bread. Coffee machine with many choices. Property is really clean. Applebee’s restaurant and Ruby Tuesday near (walkable 3 min)"
"Lobby smelled clean and fresh, hallways smelled nice, and rooms smelled clean and fresh. Staff was friendly and courteous with smiles and information. We will be staying here on our next trip here!"
"Our stay at the Holiday Inn was exactly what we needed. The hotel was very clean and well-maintained, which made us feel comfortable right away. The gentleman at the front desk was especially friendly and provided excellent customer service, he really made us feel welcome. My husband and I just wanted a simple one-night getaway from the kids, and we’re so glad we chose to book here. It was a relaxing and pleasant experience, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return."
"When you first walk into the lobby, you think this should be a top-tier type of atmosphere.
Got to the room, one lamp was rusted and old enough that I was worried about getting shocked if I even tried to turn it on.
The AC, it only works after the lights go out and the temperature drops outside.
The shower, I guess they want the bathroom floors mopped as there were no shower curtains.
Breakfast was great.
And the one side door near our room is constantly left open and propped open. The doors to the room, the deadbolts don't work, and if you don't actually push or pull it closed, it will accidentally open without notice.
Mattresses, you can feel every single spring in them.
The microwave hadn't been cleaned in ages. You're welcome. I did it for you so I could heat my food.
The floors in the room, sticky. Climbed out of the shower (with no curtain, of course), walked to the bed to get some clean clothes, soles of my feet already black and sticky. We had to march right back to the shower and kept crocs on the entire time.
Should've stayed down the road a little further at Holiday Inn.
And don't forget the $50 incidental, but they will only refund $46 cause of an unannounced $2 per day access to the in-room safe (that we never used). Response: "I'll have to see what my manager can do."
Lastly, not to mention the possible adult deeds going on in there, maybe that's why that door kept being propped open. Same two women, every couple of hours with different men."
