"Check in was good. We had a generous sized room looking out onto the bay with a balcony but it came at a hefty price. The carpet was stained and the bathroom floor dirty in the corners. Items were replaced haphazzardly. No mugs in the room despite a kettle and we had to ask for these. Breakfast was adequate but slightly mean spirited, evidenced by tiny juice glasses and bowls for other items. Bar service was friendly and welcoming with, surprisingly, generous portions for the bar food."

"I came off a late train to find this place last minute. You can feel the days stresses begin to disintegrate with each step down the garden path. Every piece of the decorum in the lobby is intentional and inspires peace and tranquility. The rooms are quaint and everything has its place. The rainfall shower is abundant and the water is hot. "This hotel was conveniently located, but there was not much going for it beyond that. The staff was polite, but did not seem to have any hospitality training. There were no offers to help with bags or for recommendations in the area. The rooms have been updated recently. While pretty, it’s clear the renovation was surface-level only.
