"Clean and fresh, the rooms were well appointed and maintained. It is a newer property but still an excellent experience over all. Staff was helpful and polite, breakfast was the usual hotel fare, but decent."
"A great little place. I’d enjoyed a stay here one time before—on a Monday night. This time it was a Wednesday so The Laurel was open! I checked in at 7:45 so only 15 minutes before closing. I walked down the stairs, they gave me a table, I had a fantastic cocktail and very very tasty steak bites with nice accompaniment. They made sure I got a shot at a second drink before closing as well. The rooms are delightfully furnished and the bathrooms are a standout feature. As they mention on premises, this place is 100 years old and has the same radiator system as built with. As it got going around 10 pm, it made some laugh out loud banging noises worthy of a movie scene. But that was the only time I heard anything from it. And the room temp was very comfortable. The bed. The bed in #3 gave me the best night sleep I’d had in a couple of weeks. Slept right through my 7 AM call. Highly recommended. 10/10. "
"The booking photos are deceiving as it was very old, poor linens, stale smell. Hair on the linens, on the floor, sink and shower, other peoples hair everywhere! I paid the bill as I had too and left. It had a very bad energy and vibe. Like bad things happen in these seedy places. Never again will I hope a deal works out. Pay the extra. Not a healthy place. It makes you feel weird. Maybe a truck driver can gut it out but not the normal everyday person. Dirty in and out! Stay away....unless you don't care ....because there are those people."
