"Location was very good. Breakfast was very good. Staff generally good, but check in staff was disinterested and not really listening. Gym should have water available. Our family suite was spacious with a lovely view from the balcony. However, 2 of the cups in room not washed on check-in! Can be noisy with 6am prayers (broadcasted with speakers by mosque near hotel). Earplugs were not effective in blocking the sound."

"We had a wonderful five-night stay at the resort. The staff truly go above and beyond to make your stay memorable, and we felt so well looked after throughout our visit. It was the perfect balance of relaxation and exploring the island. Our room was clean, spacious and very comfortable, making it a lovely place to come back to after a day out. We would absolutely love to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the resort to our family and friends. Thank you for such a memorable stay!"

"We are a family of 4 with 2 children aged 8 and 11, and stayed for 6 nights August 2026. We found this to be a very friendly, clean and comfortable place to stay, with an excellent location right on the beach, with all the long beach amenities easily accessible. The breakfast buffet is good. We did 3 snorkelling trips with Mimpi which were well organised and good. Our room had a lovely view across long beach. The private transfer from Kota Bharu airport to Mimpi and back again was well worth the money, well organised and we were grateful for them managing our luggage. Overall definitely recommend Mimpi as a place to stay."

The Barat Perhentian Beach Resort

"We had a wonderful stay in a Family Seaside Room with our 2 teens. Spacious and comfortable, strong AC. Wifi worked, hot shower, comfortable beds, mini fridge. Basic amenities. They gave 4 water bottles and a new roll of toilet paper per day and beach towels were available at the front desk. We enjoyed the chairs on our porch and the amazing view of the other island. The way the island is set up, there are only beach paths which cut through all the hotels so you do get a lot of people walking in front of the room along the path - not the place for you if you want something more private (or pick a room farther in the back without a view). We loved people watching along the jetty and enjoyed the vibe. It was quiet for sleeping times. A quick and easy 5 minute walk to Coral View beach and another couple minutes to PIR beach. Just breathtaking beaches! Clear water, amazing snorkeling right off the beach. Restaurant on site had great food, took credit cards and we loved hanging out there for the evenings but the service was hit or miss. Get there early or wait for a table for a long time. They forgot part of our order on 3 occasions and we had to ask, after a 40 minute wait. Also more expensive than other places as they add 20% tax/gratuity. Overall, we kept our expectations low as the islands aren't very developed or luxurious but we were comfortable, felt safe and left feeling very happy. The Perhentians are incredible and this hotel made for a great home base during our stay."

"Clean and spacious family room. Breakfast buffet was impressive. AC was not strong enough, took many hours to cool the room down and didn’t ever really get cool. Gym could be updated and improved. Staff was friendly and helpful."

"The hotel was lovely, great facilities, fantastic staff, especially Priscilla. It was All inclusive and had some of the nicest food around, set in a more tranquil side of the island, but the hotel organised activities and boat trios went all over both islands"
