"Great decor, wonderful owners who were extremely helpful and also of great cheer. Great location and wonderfully maintained, especially considering that it was new in the 1400's. The room was clean, neat and actually had sheets and a blanket rather than the usual smothering comforter that pins one to the mattress that is ever present in Europe."
"Excellent accommodation, very welcoming and friendly.
We were just staying for the evening and didnt have breakfast as we wanted to get away early as we chose this place as it is close to the Centre Parcs Le Bois aux Daims we were staying at from the Monday (and wanted to get the most from pool etc there so needed a place to stay for night before and this was ideal).
We were a family of 5 and had the 3 kids in one room with us in the main one but there was plenty of space and more facilities than we expected in the room for the price - as well as things like fridge and coffee maker there were also microwave, stove, kettle (we do love our tea!), dishwasher, lots of utensils etc, as well as 2 tables and enough chairs for us all and a large wardrobe and various drawers.
Lovely quiet location just a short drive from Chinon with its large Fortress / Chateau and river (and very reasonably priced and tasty Pizza takeaway which we went to as being a Sunday evening most places were not open).
Would gladly stay again if we were back in the area"
"A hotel of great character with views out onto Chinon centre . The staff were really great . The room and bathroom was very clean . Breakfast was both hot and also a nice buffet . "
"This is a simple, roadside lodge style hotel. The staff were all exceptionally helpful and spoke some English that supplemented our very basic French. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Breakfast (pay extra) was simple but adequate and included a toaster with bread, condiments, scrambled eggs and bacon as well as the usual pastries and yogurts.
There is no restaurant at the hotel but there are a number of places to eat within walking distance but don't expect any fine dining. We ate at the Asian 'all you can eat' buffet which was excellent and just 500m away.
It was easy to find, just off the main motorway and accepted our dogs for a very small supplement. We will use this hotel again if we are passing. "
