Lillooet Lake

We were en route to Kamloops when a weather-beaten sign for lakeside cabins caught our eye, so we veered off down a gravel road and found ourselves at the end of an alpine rainbow--Lillooet Lake Lodge. We ended up staying two days. Jacob and Elisabeth are wonderful hosts. Their rustic, lakeside cabins start at $89, camping at $30 (sparkling clean bathhouse and hot showers included). The views of the lake are unparalleled; excellent hiking, fishing and boating abound. Directions: From Pemberton, go north on 99/Portage Road to Mt. Currie. Take a right onto Lillooet Lake Road, then right onto Lillooet River Road.
