Limekiln State Park

You never know what history you’ll find camping in Big Sur. This is an old limekiln...used from 1887 to 1890 to extract lime from limestone at very high heat. They then shipped it off to Monterey and San Francisco to build the city. Lime was the key ingredient used in cement. After 3 years however, they’d exhausted all their resources and abandoned them.

Step into the unknown ... Get out of the city and live off the grid ... Disconnect with society ... Reconnect with the natural energy of planet Earth ... Dig your feet in the sand, water, grass, dirt, rocks = Earthing: absorbing Mother Nature's energy with your body!! 🙏 Take a hike, cleanse your body with fresh air, wash away your worries with a waterfall and let it flow out in the ocean where it's lost and gone forever, and return from the wilderness refreshed and renewed!! Thank God for the day as it turns to night ... Repeat often!
