"Everything about the hotel’s description is misleading. The exterior carpet is torn, and the paint is chipped throughout. The elevator is decrepit and barely fits two people. The front desk and the parking lot are closed from 11pm-7am so there’s no choice but to park 3 blocks away in the inconvenient “additional parking”. If guests need assistance between those hours, they have to call the Montvale Hotel down the street. The room wasn’t nearly as bright and decorative as portrayed. The toilet barely flushed, and the bathtub didn’t drain properly. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the wall dispensers were literally congealed. I booked this hotel for two nights, but chose to leave after the first one. I expressed my issues and concerns about the property and the room with the front desk clerk who was unsympathetic. I informed her that I would not be staying the second night, and she said she couldn’t administer a refund because she didn’t have access to the reservation because it was done through hotels.com. A representative from hotels.com contacted Hotel Ruby on my behalf which resulted in my being charged for the second night anyway. WORST OVERALL EXPERIENCE AT A HOTEL IN MY ENTIRE LIFE."
