"The room was very clean and tidy, food was excellent and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. I would recommend Herriots for anyone stating in Skipton - and Skipton itself for a short break. For anyone taking a single room, try for no 20. I had coffee with the balcony doors open and overlooking the canal. Just great..."

"Stayed for two nights with myself, my husband and three children (ages 0-4). The hotel itself is a beautiful old manor house, inside the decor is within keeping to this - dark woods and large pieces of furniture. Lovely grand staircase to the rooms (no lift, however staff are always happy to help if you require it) Our room had a lovely large bed and a sofa bed which became a good size double. The staff were also kind enough to provide a cot (without us asking). The room was large with kettle etc provided. Large ensuite with a shower and a bath. The room itself could do with updating or refreshing as there were little bits of wear and tear, however I found this added to the feel of the place as it's such a beautiful old building, I would hate to see it 'modernized'. Breakfast was a continental breakfast (toast, cereal, fruit. Yoghurts, meat and cheese). The main member of staff we dealt with was amazing, he provided fresh pastries, cut fruit etc anything we needed was never too much trouble. There is free parking on site and you are always greeted by a member of staff at the door regardless of time. We arrived late in the night, just before midnight, and we still had a friendly warm welcome."

"Excellent accommodation. Well fitted/colour coordinated bedrooms. Bathroom spotless/new white appliances/amazing shower cabinet-fast hot water on tap. Warm conditions what ever the weather. Pleasent staff, very obliging. Parking can be difficult. "

"We first stayed in Nov 24. This time we stayed Apr 26. Previously we were in the Annex, but this time we were in the main building. The room was large and nicely decorated. I booked two rooms as our adult daughter came too. Both rooms were cold even though the heating was on, but its an old building, so probably difficult to heat. The included breakfast was OK but was timed this time around with half an hour slots. But we were OK with this. Plenty of onsite parking. We had a party of 15 for a family meal in the restaurant/bar. Good menu choices. We didn't experience this, but others in our group had no hot water (they were staying in the annex). Would probably stay again despite the cold rooms, but probably visit in the summer instead."

"We have stayed with you a number of times over the last 25 years. Also eaten in the Brasserie more often. The room was a little tired didn’t feel the treat I remembered. The staff were fabulous as always. Think some corners are being cut such a shame. We will come again"

"My daughter and I had such a lovely time at the hotel and spa, Rudolph greeted us with his lovely smile and willingness to help during our stay at the hotel,the food at Wilfreds was amazing and every member of staff were polite and attentive,we also had a day at the spa,wow!what an experience,it exceeded our expectations,the lovely Lorna looked after us ,the whole experience from the massage the facilities the food , cleanliness and especially the staff was amazing ."

"Excellent breakfast. The food for dinner was average and over priced. A 10% optional service charge was added unless you asked for it not to be. I did this but felt awkward. The drinks prices were extortionate - £22.75 for two large glasses of house wine."
