Our son, who lives in Melbourne, observed the motel the day before our arrival and was concerned that we had already paid. His comments on the motel's appearance and general upkeep were most unflattering. When we arrived on the afternoon of Tuesday 13 December my wife refused to accept the accommodation and indicated that, as far as she was concerned we would go elsewhere even if it meant forfeiting what we had paid.. I was in agreement but preferred to try to, at least. recover some of our cost.
