If paying $400 + per night for a 3-star hotel is your thing, then this hotel is for you. The staff was friendly, but the rooms clearly need updating. My pet peeve was the blackout curtain with a gap in the middle that let the sun hit me right in the eye every morning.

The outdoor areas in the common areas are very nice, as are most of the rooms with balconies - with spacious outdoor areas. Not all rooms have outdoor areas. Dislike: parking can be rough. Small spaces close together, so sometimes you end up parking in the front of the restaurant or other far off areas to find a space, and go top it off, they charge $30 a day for parking.

Front Desk staff was friendly and helpful. I requested an early check in, but unfortunately they could not accommodate me. The room was clean and well appointed. Bathroom was equipped with all the toiletries one might need. Beds were made up on the second day of our stay and we appreciated that. Parking was a little challenging only in the fact that the Inn was filled to capacity. Its in a great centralized location, with easy access to Hwy 1. Breakfast at the Sherwood restaurant located in the motel was delicious. Our server was timely and nice. I would highly recommend the Carmel Mission Inn and plan to stay the next time I'm in Carmel.

We loved it! We also stayed in a 5 star and besides the extra touches this place was just as comfortable! There are tons of places to eat almost on the property and super easy to get in and out with lots of parking.
