"Stayed here a few nights after arriving from the US before moving on to other areas in the Lakes. Excellent location in the heart of Kendal convenient to restaurants and shops. Enjoyed a nice hike right from our door along the river and up to the castle."

"What a brilliant hotel! It was such a surprising place - we had walked over from Patterdale to Shap so needed a lift to the hotel. It is 4 miles outside the village along a busy road. The hotel is run by such kind, helpful staff who took great care of us. Our room was great, spacious, clean and warm. ..."
