Heartland Hotel Haast
Heartland Hotel was a great place to stay. I really liked the sliding entrance door to the room. The room was well laid out and had a fridge, kettle and variety of teas. Buffet breakfast had eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, and the usual continental food. The bed was also very comfortable.

The wilderness retreat is a beautiful and peaceful little oasis on the dart river and the drive in/out is stunning. Wonderland Makarora Lodge
Arrived after hours but with specific instruction that there wouls be a note for each arriving gues by the reception and the room key would be in the unit door. Arrived to find no information, no postings and couldnt find an unoccupied cabin with a key in the door
