"Good size room. Like the free flow of drinks (local sake, Asahi beer, coffee/tea) provided from 5pm till midnight at the lobby. Cosy lounge area. Very helpful and friendly staff. Top marks to all of them. Hotel very conveniently located near the old town. I would recommend trying at least once the Japanese breakfast provided by the hotel. "

"I had a wonderful stay at this lovely and charming Ryokan. They had very nice artwork and decor throughout the Ryokan, everything was very clean and it's in a great location, walkable to all the sites and the train station. The staff was so kind and helpful! I loved this Ryokan and Takayama so much that I give it my highest recommendation to anyone visiting Takayama. Thank you for an amazing stay! I hope to be able to return one day soon! "

"Easy to find. Just a few minutes away. Come out of the station, walk ahead past the information centre, cross the road and walk straight ahead down the street. Walk past the 7 Bank and turn left. Hotel is on your right. We received such a warm welcome. We stayed 3 nights. The room was a reasonable size and we could put both cases open on the floor. The bed was very comfortable, water was hot and WiFi good. You can have breakfast downstairs for around AUD18. In the same room you can make complimentary tea and coffee during the day/evening. They also have a sauna and jacuzzi which was nice to use after a day of sightseeing. For those looking for a good coffee (almost Melbourne standard) and a smaller breakfast, turn left out of the hotel and immediate left again. Over on the right you will see Hids’ Cafe. We went both mornings. They open at 0630 so you can use even if you have an early train. To sum up, we loved this hotel, staff were very friendly and helpful, position is great, walking distance from everything and it is good value. We would definitely stay again."
