"Had such a pleasant stay that I returned for a second time! Very clean, traditional style ryokan, with very helpful staff. I appreciate that they spoke English, provide laundry machines, and helped in calling us a taxi to the station during checkout. If you're interested in breakfast, specify it in your booking. "Me and my friend stayed here one night and we were completely blown away by just about everything this place had to offer. The grounds are small and intimate but meticulously taken care of. You feel like you stepped into a different time or even a movie set. We saw two wedding parties here; one when we were checking in and one in the evening but it didn't feel intrusive. "This hotel has a great location and strikes a good balance between modern and traditional. I booked a traditional Japanese room with tatami mats and futon for sleeping. The breakfast was very nice. We did a sake (nihonshu!) tasting with Brian which was very enjoyable. I did not do the private bath and feel like that might have helped the experience feel more authentic. Overall good hotel but probably not the most authentic ryokan experience."
