good to get away from it all
slightly quirky room and hotel layout. eg my room door opened into the room with a pillar imnediately behind it!. Food was excellent in the resteraunt, the hotel is set back from the village and it was lovely to be close to the woods and deer in the enclosure outside. Staff very helpfull.

Could do better
The hotel is outdated and needs investment to improve the stay. The proprietor was welcoming (she unfortunately had very little English and unfortunately our German was very poor too - which made communication more challenging). She got up early to see us off and was helpful when the bed broke as ...
