Our check-in time was confirmed for anytime after 4 PM, and we arrived at approximately 7:45 PM. We checked in & proceeded to our assigned room. The key did not work, so the front desk clerk to reprogrammed it. She then accompanied me back to ensure access. Once inside, we immediately noticed the room had not been cleaned since its last use—the beds remained unmade.
The clerk asked us to wait while she investigated the issue. After 15 minutes of waiting in the hallway, I returned to the front desk, where I was informed that the cleaning company could not be reached and there was no estimate on when the room would be prepared. I was told that there were no other available rooms, meaning we would have to potentially wait several hours before check-in. We were advised to store our bags in a secure location and either wait in the lounge or go out for dinner.
After the long drive, we were exhausted & wanted to settle in. We decided to go eat and returned around 10 PM, and were offered a different room. While attempting to settle in, we noticed one of the beds contained sand between the sheets. We were too tired to address the issue further. Upon our return home, I emailed the property, but they have not even acknowledged my concerns. This whole ordeal was unacceptable and disappointing.
