We visited over Khmer New Years (April 13-16) so many things shut down for the holiday. We enjoyed the slower pace, but just be aware if you have your heart set on visiting certain markets or restaurants. The street water gun fights were fun.

Be prepared for the way they drive. There don't appear to be any real traffic laws, so everyone just goes, all at the same time, on the wrong side of the street at times. Pedestrians should use extreme caution when crossing the street.

The city is vibrant with lots to do at all hours day and night. Cultural sites and beautiful architecture. Fantastic food and friendly people. Felt safe walking with my wife at all hours day or night.

Phnom Penh is pretty raw but that's what we loved about it. It's authentic and unapologetic.

PP is easy to get around. It's very busy and crossing the roads can be difficult. The footpaths are awful so take care when walking. The area near the river has some very sleazy areas which makes PP not very family-friendly.

Great to visit. Historical and educational re the country, its people and dark past. Grim in places such as visit to killing fields but a must do....to.learn

I loved the city - we were there during the water festival and it was crazy joyous!

I've lived in PP for 6 months and it is a great city. Of course, it has its downsides when compared to the States, but overall, it's a unique and great city. There's a reason why I keep coming back. Because PP, SR, and Cambodia in general is amazing!

I liked the hustle and bustle of the city, yes it has typical South-asian vibe about; chaotic, busy, not clean, but there's a lot to do, plenty of good eating facilities of any kind, didn't mind spend anytime there, actually it should be a stop

The tuk tuk drivers will overcharge tourists if they think they can get away with it. Always ask what they are going to charge BEFORE getting into one. Few traffic lights so crossing the street can be very dangerous if you are not careful.
