Pigeon Key

Such a beautiful place to talk a walk or run surrounded by water until you get to this spot :)

The wooden bridge to Pigeon Key. It is now closed to pedestrian and bicycle traffic, so the only way to reach Pigeon Key is by ferry. You can still walk out to the wooden bridge by using what was part of the old 7 Mile Bridge. If you walk out, keep an eye on the water for sharks, sea turtles and sting rays. The new bridge, in the background of this picture, was opened in the early 80's and is the favored way to reach Key West from main land Florida. Pigeon Key housed the workers for the Overseas Railway, that operated between 1912-1935.
