"Cool, historic inn in a beautiful part of Charleston. Richard was a gracious host, and we enjoyed wine and charcuterie on the porch. A note re: our room. We booked a room that was on the "ground" floor, which was more or less the basement or carriage house floor. It was fine, but I envisioned something a little different. Also, as we were drifting off to sleep, there was a sound in the walls that sounded like scratching...almost like an animal was in the walls. But, all in all, we enjoyed...

"I absolutely loved my stay at The Loutrel. The property is beautiful. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The room was very nice. The location was perfect. "We were visiting Charleston for a wedding. We wanted close to the historic district and couldn’t have found a more perfect location. It was an easy walking distance to view the beautiful historic homes as well as getting to the Market area for shopping. Our events were on Isle of Palms and we zipped over there in approximately fifteen minutes both evenings. Perfect!! The hotel is spotless and the room was truly excellent. The staff and valet were extremely courteous and helpful. A big shout out...

"Had the best girls’ getaway at The Mills House! The central location made it easy to explore all the best of Charleston on foot. The hotel is beautiful, with tons of charm and Southern character. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. Perfect spot for a fun and relaxing stay with the girls!"

"It’s ok. Could use a deep clean and our room had a view of a roof but it was in a great location. Power went out for about two hours one night we were there; that was interesting. Room small, no luggage cradle, no iron, but they had a steamer. Hair dryer terrible/cheap, they should upgrade those. Shower area was ok, but the shower head not practical, low water pressure. Bed was not good, too soft, caved in in the center. Terrible pillows. For the price I don’t think I’d stay here again and...

"We booked our room last minute for a one night stopover from wintering in Florida. What a great room which actually was a well fitted 1 bedroom apt. So clean. Such nice amenities. We even had a secure parking spot with our bikes. Great location, a few blocks from King street. Would love to return!! "

"Nice sized rooms, clean, and extremely friendly staff. It is located a block from the main tourist area and it is quiet. We didn't hear any noise from traffic, visitors, or guests. It feels secluded even though it is a block away. The valets and bellmen are really nice and courteous. "
