To avoid the risks of Trebbia’s unpredictable floods, legend has it that St. Columban made a pact with the Devil: in exchange for the construction of the bridge in one night only, Devil’s reward would be the soul of the first person who would cross it. The Devil respected the agreement and in one night he built the Old Bridge with the help of a group of demons of different height and build, cause however of the structure’s irregularity. When St. Columbanus, the next morning, saw the Hunchbacked Bridge, mocked the Devil by letting a dog be the first to cross it.

"Excellent breakfast, bacon & eggs, fruit, pastries meats, cheese. The shower had good water pressure and size for most hotels. The bed was nice and comfortable. The staff were simply amazing. The location less than 10 minutes from train station was on the marina a beautiful area. Good selection of restaurants and gelateria nearby."

"Very “ old Hollywood feel” it’s outdated but still really great. When we came in then has complimentary chestnuts, the service at front was really nice to us, accommodated our room request for two separate beds, the food in their restaurant was great just very expensive. I found parking in their lot for free which helped, the water smelled unusual in the shower though. Great for a night or two"
