"Overall this is a good hotel. I wouldn't choose the basic rooms. Better to go for the better, slightly more expensive rooms. Breakfast was good"

"We had a pleasant stay. The grounds was beautiful. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a short visit. We stayed in the west wing section with a view to the garden. The rooms are not large in size with a double bed. It's a simple, no-frills place with basic amenities, but it delivered exactly what we expected. "Main area of hotel was lovely and appreciated the bar being open late after returning from the Kynren. For the price our room off the courtyard was basic but functional. Plastic, disposible cups in bathroom. No dressing table mirror near a socket for us ladies, cheap furniture and roller blinds. We didn’t eat there so can't comment."

"Avoid a room above the bar because of the noise. I think it must get its 3 star rating from the rooms in the new areas. The food was very mediocre. For food I would recommend The Fox Hole which is around a 5 minute walk. The setting saved my stay because it was lovely to sit by the river. The staff were very nice."
