"The Black Pearl is conveniently located to many walkable areas such as shopping, the Harpa, the waterfront, museums and the bus stop (which is helpful for pickups to excursions like the spas or pony trecking). Our apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable and we appreciated the king size bed which is hard to find in most hotels. Be aware that the hotel is on a street with restaurants and pubs which can be noisy at night, especially since we visited during the summer when it never gets dark...

"Basic lodging that met the needs of our party of 7. We were in building 53 (upstairs) and there is no real lounging space but the bedrooms are spacious. Basic soap provided and some tea/coffee. Beds were comfortable but as others have mentioned the floors can be loud but slippers are provided to help the noise. The building is close to the main area where shops and restaurants are so definitely loud at times…earplugs can help."

"Only had a tiny window on left side of room. Leaving room quite dark. If you like sun … not the room for you. Massage was mediocre. Slippers were NOT provided. Breakfast was standard continental breakfast. All was fresh. Location is good."

"Nice clean facility but minimum cheap furniture. No desk or drawers to keep things and bathroom sink did not have any counter space to put even tooth brush or tooth paste. Some counter space in bathroom would have made daily routine little easier. Bathroom glass door was not a good idea and shower needed some glass wall to prevent splashes and that would have made maintenance staff work easier too."

"The hotel is quite old and it certainly feels and looks it. There is no bellman service to bring bags up or down from the room. When requesting laundry service we were advised to take out bags down. Our room was right in front of the square and was quite noisy every night and early morning. The breakfast selection seems lacking specially in terms of fresh fruit selection. Housekeeping did not clean the rooms thorouhhly specially the bathrooms. For the price there have to be better options in...
