"We came in and the room was set. The curtains were disheveled some of the hooks were totally off and it was just hanging, you could not close it. The room was not made or cleaned trough our visit. We were given one towel per person, no new towels were brought to us. Your hallway on the second floor is so filthy I would replace it, it brings you rating down to 0 null I mean is awful. The TV was out, we tried to figure it out but nothing happened. I told the Lady at the desk on the way out, we had a hospital visit that day. Nothing was done, then the next day the power was out for almost three hours, storm was passing trough. TV still did not work. Sunday breakfast was not good at all. The biscuits were so hard you could kill a person with it, so no biscuits and gravy. We had settle on eggs and bread, the waffle maker had no dough for it. The coffee was good, thank you. So the breakfast was a bust we had to get it outside the hotel, though it's included in the price. Monday morning breakfast was a bit better we had the waffle dough but no cups for the coffee. Seems your hotel is not taken care of as it should be, you always lack something in your service. People were pleasant, not very outgoing just there smiling that's all. We left disappointed in the visit. On top of the sadness of Family visit the hotel just made it so much worse. Would I recommend Hawthorne by Windom in St. Robert Missouri, NO, I would suggest anything else. It's not a welcoming and clean place."
"Booked a two night stay room was OK. Breakfast was OK but at the end there was a seven dollar charge that I called about and it was for housekeeping which we didn’t use and the gym which we didn’t use and breakfast. They say breakfast is included when really it’s not there is three dollars and 50 Cent per day charge. It should be posted on their site.!"
"Let me start by saying:
Cons...
1. Property needs some upgrade and the images on the website was not accurate.
2. Room safety chain was broke
3. No soap dish holder on bathroom sink
4. The table in room was wrobbly
5. Comforter and sheets were damp after check-in
6. Breakfast only consisted of cereal, premade waffles in bag, yogurt, muffins, juice, and milk in cafe container
7. Suites rooms ($400+) advertised online were false and did not have view of lake
8. Check-out was at 11:00am and was told at 11:01am, I would be charge an additional fee.
9. As I am leaving room after checking out, I had to place my luggage outside the door so not to be charged extra fee and the housekeeping was standing at the room door then proceeded to call front desk on walkie talkie.
10. Outdoor pool had a security guard on watch once my family party of 10 entered as if we would be a problem.
11. Walking the property trails/grounds at night were not well lighted, pretty dark to walk alone.
12. Hotel charged your card 3 days prior to arrival.
11. This resort gave me an impression of a slave quarters... not people of color friendly.
Pros...
1. The new Encore restaurant was nice and good food.
2. The roof bar was nice overlooking the lake
3. Swim-up pool bar was small, but nice.
4. It was close to major highway, restaurants and shopping."
"we enjoyed the views from the deck and bar watching all the boats on saturday. Our first check in the clerk attempted to charge us a second time for the night, even though it had already been paid through expedia but later that was fixed."
"The front desk found a way to get us a first floor room because my mother is handicap and not able to use stairs. *No Elevator* Our room smelled like mold and had cobwebs in every corner. It also did not have a fridge. * It was sitting outside the room broken*
I had to go to the desk to get toilet paper because there was none. I really thought highly of the man for helping us out, so I did not complain."
