"Lovely appointed hotel at the quiet end of The Esplanade closer to the airport. The front rooms are well appointed, but located directly above the restaurant so be prepared for noise. "Check in the attendant didn’t tell us anything about resort facilities restaurants, wifi etc. we had to ask every question When we checked in our room wasn’t cleaned properly, dirty tissue on the floor, sand through the wardrobe. Duty manager wasn’t helpful a cleaner came up and cleaned the mess however there was still sand I had to clean myself. The following evening some courtesy fruit for the not properly cleaned was left. The resort itself is beautiful and has a lot of covered walking paths to get from the lobby to the rooms, pools, and restaurants, helpful when it rains on and off a lot in Cairns. Breakfast buffet was really good, wish it was built into the price though. Staff were very welcoming and helpful, particularly one night with very noisy neighbours at 2:30am. "The hotel is nice, massive bed, comfy sofa and very friendly staff. Communication was good prior to visit. We went for an apartment style room for the cooking facilities, but there were no pots and pans or cooking utensils, meaning we couldn’t really use these facilities. Not sure if this is normal, but worth confirming with the hotel if you, like us, went for this bigger room for these amenities."

"The hotel is low-rise and close to the road. Our room faced the road and was over the loading area, making for lots of noise in the early morning (bins being emptied and trucks making deliveries). The room was fitted out as pictured and clean. A strip on the bottom of the door would stop the light coming in from the corridor (we used a towel to block the light).
