Although I had to have the room sprayed for mosquitos and leave the room while the poison took effect, I still was bitten by mosquitos. I hate mosquitos so I am glad I only stayed one night.

Nice place to stay in Santa Marta

The staff was very helpful and polite, it was so nice to be welcomed by them after a long day of travel. They were able to answer all of my questions and helped me set up a cab for an early flight. The building itself is beautiful and the rooftop deck is a nice reprieve from the noisy city streets below. However, the room was not as clean as it might have been, there was a dead cockroach in one corner, and the linens had spots on them. I also found the mattress to be somewhat uncomfortable. Overall it was a pleasant stay but I would have liked the room to be cleaner and more well-kept.

La chambre et l’hôtel sont très bien. Malheureusement nous avions pris cet hotel pour la pisicine car ayant un avion nous n'avions pas bcp de temps sur place donc nous souhaitions nous reposer. La piscine était hors d'usage lors de notre arrivée mais on nous avait dit que ce serait bon pour le lendemain nous n'avions donc rien prévu d'autre. Or le lendemain ce n’était tjs pas bon et on nous a conseillé un hôtel ou il fallait payer pour accéder à la piscine nous avons du négocier qu'ils nous remboursent ces frais supplémentaires car nous ne trouvions pas ça normal, mais nous n'avons eu aucun geste commercial sur la chambre alors que nous avions une prestation en moins.

Front desk staff is amazing. Always available and pleased to help. The swimming pool on the rooftop although very small is really good and has nice views over the city and the cathedral. The hotel is really well located right beside the main shopping and pedestrian street. The room are well appointed and the A/C works very well. The room It has a mini bar. The only thing to improve is perhaps to provide more light in the bathroom as it feels extremely dark (there is only one spotlight in the ceiling). Overall is a great Hotel and with extremely attentive and pleasant staff in one of the best locations in the city.

There was a great variaty of different breakfast options! They offer a direct transport to Cartagena. One member of the staff speaks german. Everyone was very friendly and eager to help. We enjoyed our stay there.

Loved the Barcelona Suite

We stayed in the Barcelona suite for 3 nights as a base for visiting Minca and Tayrona. The room is massive and really nicely decorated, with 2 balconies off the bedroom and 1 off the sitting area. The hotel is only a block away from the main strip of restaurants, bars etc, which meant we could walk to these without feeling unsafe. The hotel itself has a security gate and felt very safe. It has a cute rooftop area with very small pool - we didn’t really use this much as we tended to be out all day. The room is well equipped including really good air con which was welcomed as this was our first stop on the Carribean coast! The only drawbacks were the very loud pigeons on the balcony early morning (take ear plugs) and the curtains were not black out (take eye mask!) The breakfast was made to order rather than buffet and had a good variety, but was sometimes a little slow - something to bear in mind if you’re heading out on a day trip and are pressed for time. The staff however were really friendly, and were helpful in organising our onward travel to Cartagena.

Nice place, nice people. room was uncomfortable.

It is in a convenient neighborhood and the staff was wonderful and the breakfast was wonderful. There was construction noise everyday, all day. I understand that can be temporary. If I have a complain it is that there is no place to sit down in your room except the bed. I asked for a chair but I was denied. How can someone stay in a room with no chair?

Historic Santa Marta

Good breakfast. Nic e people, good service, old building hard to keep up with, they try hard to keep it clean and considering, they do a nice job. Good area to stay, historical Santa Marta. First Colombian city (1525).
