There WERE some closer hotels to the beach, but they were far more expensive. "The staff was friendly and even helped steer us towards a great spot for lunch in downtown Sarasota. The breakfast was great and offered hot options instead of just the typical continental breakfast. I LOVED the mesmerizing decor and the cleanliness throughout the property. Just one complaint: the A/C in the room did not get very cold. But we really did enjoy our stay and will return! "
