"We stopped in Sault Ste. Marie on a cross country road trip and Trunk Road Motel exceeded our needs and expectations! Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and we felt right at home the entire time. Motel is very close to local restaurants, gas, groceries, etc. so we had everything we needed within a short distance. Their dog Nikki was such a sweetheart and added to the already friendly and welcoming environment. We would definitely stay here again when in Sault Ste. Marie."

"In our travels, this is the first time a property "by Wyndham" has failed in cleanliness, and upkeep of amenities. The foyer and breakfast room and pool area looked well-kept but beyond that.... elevator carpeted floor and hallway truly awful. What looked like sawdust. A carpenter lives here? Trying to be just. The room: Sour smell, double bed, water stains on ceiling. AC adequate but filter needed cleaning and missing a knob. Bathroom: sink not cleaned, dark something and splatters around t.p. holder 😳, and other signs forbade me to trust the cleanliness of the bathroom. Sink half plugged. Pool: closed for maintenance Breakfast: attractive room, fairly good selection, pancake maker that was not working, bagels that were dried out. Must go to the desk for a voucher first. With something badly needed maintenance, and more cleaning staff, this could be a hotel that meets our expectations of clean, quiet and safe. "
