"The location was great, with friendly, helpful staff and rooms had everything needed albeit a bit basic and plug sockets seemed a bit scarce. Breakfast was in a lovely area and really good - nice touch bringing fresh eggs of your choice. I would suggest bringing toast too so they don’t go cold when waiting for toaster! Would recommend as a great base for short trip."

"Caravan was tired but very clean. Value good for what we paid. Excellent site, amenities are great, everything required to make our stay an enjoyable experience. Pool area very clean. "First the pros. The staff are wonderful!! Super helpful and friendly. The breakfast was also amazing! Good selections and tastes delicious! The restaurant area is nicely decorated and modern. There’s a good selection of toiletries and we had a nice large room with high ceilings. Now the cons. The parking garage is very tight and the other option is a paid lot down the street, just not very convenient. The bed and pillows were so hard and the walls are thin. Didn’t sleep well but I’m also a light sleeper. Generally a dated look upstairs. You also need to check into your room at the bar and carry your luggage through the restaurant. No elevator. It did seem like they were doing some renovations though and going by what the restaurant looks like it’ll be lovely! I did feel the good outweighs the bad though and I’d stay again. I’ll just bring my own pillow next time!"

"Had to ask for a room change on arrival as too many steps at various intervals on way to room E.g bathroom had 2 step drop into the room. Not ideal for elderly couple. Having said rhat one has to remember that it is one of the oldest buildings in the town. This was our second stay there and will be back ."

"We stayed for one night and were very happy overall. The standout was the gentleman running the place, who seemed to be doing everything. He was genuinely welcoming and made the stay feel easy and relaxed. The accommodation itself is a bit tired in places, but that felt in keeping with it being an old pub. Importantly, everything was clean and well looked after. The bedroom, bathroom, and bedding were all spotless, which matters more than modern décor. It has a nice, quaint, old-fashioned feel. We ate in the restaurant in the evening. The food was fine, nothing particularly memorable, and it did feel a little expensive for what it was, but that seems fairly typical at the moment. Breakfast, on the other hand, was excellent and a real highlight. It set us up perfectly for the day. It was very quiet during our stay. There were hardly any cars in the car park, and we were the only ones eating both in the evening and at breakfast. That may suit some people, but it is worth noting if you are expecting a busier atmosphere. One practical point: the electric vehicle chargers on site are currently not working, so do not rely on them. Overall, a pleasant, comfortable stay with great service and a strong breakfast."

"Hotel and grounds were very nice and parking was easy. Having seen they had a restaurant, was a little taken by surprise to find out they did not serve dinner. They do provide transport to restaurants in town though"

"The building is centuries old, so keep that in mind. The stairs are not always level, but they manage to provide modern amenities. The restaurant is a favorite among locals for good reason. And the House is across the street from the cathedral. So convenient."
