Clean and big rooms. Welcoming and friendly service desk stuff. Checkout by midday, nice.
The position is just a few minutes walk from a subway station which is a plus, but please be very mindful of the hours at which you're traveling. That station gets very busy and the trains are incredibly packed during morning and evening rush hours, so moving around with luggage at those hours would be a big no-go. Also beware that if you're in for tourism, most touristic attractions are at the north side of the city and having to cross the river means long travel times despite the metro's cheap cost and reliability.
Now, unluckily, the bad stuff:
- the room seriously needs refurbishment. The wallpaper had big stains due to humidity in the aircon area. All (bathroom included) furniture was full of scratches and notches and screaming "change me". The mattress was likely pretty old, it was not flat and instead was sloping towards the side of the bed.
- there were ongoing works in the hotel (not disclosed on the booking page) and also road works in front of the hotel. The hotel is also in front of a busy road. Loud traffic and work noises started everyday by 7am.
- apparently you can't set aircon when they have started heating the hotel. In my room, that meant a (for me) very uncomfortable 26 and half degrees temp. Could not find a way to make it cooler, even opening the windows.
- personally did not like the pillows. I sleep on the side, and the height of both pillows was not enough.
