This shot was actually taken just outside Winton, 180km from Longreach! I wish I knew how to add locations to Trover! Lol. I love Winton because it's the really real Aussie outback. The dinosaur museum is world class and well worth a visit and a tour. The food is great at Tattersalls pub and the rooms are clean and cool at the North Gregory.
Small airport. Tip: if you don't have pick up organised, there are no taxi's outside waiting.

The room was great, clean and comfortable. Staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. It was close to the attractions I wanted to visit. They provided helpful information about dining and transport. It was exactly the type of place I wanted to stay.

Longreach

The view from the lookout on Mt Slocombe, located near Yaraka, Queensland. The views overlook the Yang Yang Ranges and nearby farming plains. This shot was taken at dawn just as the sun was about to break above the horizon on the other side of the lookout. I was surprised how still it was atop the mountain (or technically a jump up). Make sure you stop by this lookout and enjoy a refreshing drink with the friendly locals at the Yaraka Hoel before traveling further west into Outback Queensland. #queensland #australia
