I wasn’t expecting much from Hotel 81 (Fuji), and mostly I got what I paid for - a budget, basic hotel room. Unfortunately the room fittings left a lot to be desired even at a budget level, especially the bathroom. The shower leaked, didn’t stay hot for long, and there was no separation between shower and toilet. There wasn’t even a shelf above or near the sink. Lighting in the room didn’t make much sense. Having said that, it was clean, wifi worked well, staff very helpful and the area has excellent food choices.

Bathroom floor wasnt sealed. And only one powerpoint made it slightly inconvenient, but overall for a budget hotel. It was what we needed it to be. Staff were great too!
Great for short stay! Staffs are very professional.

The room assigned to us was not welcoming at first - room was not properly cleaned. But their staff Rhea came to our rescue and assigned a new room that made us feel more comfortable and offered assistance for just about anything we needed. Thank you, Rhea! I loved how you paid sincere attention to our needs to make our stay as comfortable as possible!
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel very much. There is a big food court near the hotel. The room was clean with window. Every room has independent Wi-Fi station. Housekeeping service was very satisfactory. All front managers were kind.
Staff were friendly but room was full of visable mould and had layers of dust everywhere.
Shower was over the toilet with not good drainage.
Sheets were clean though.

Bed sheet is dirty with blood spot on mattress too. Cleaning is not good.
Very basic room, as expected, but quite bare, even by Hotel 81 standards. The bathroom floor wasn't tiled and water leaked through the floorboards when walked upon, even after the surface was dried. I suspect that the trapped water contributed to the unpleasant smell in the bathroom. Saw a few tiny ants as well.

Hourly rate offered plus interesting noises.
This hotel offering hourly rates for couples…….this area is not that sort of area where this practice is happening. Whilst I checked in two people asked to for hourly rate. Not only that the walls are thin and can hear people making use of the hourly rate.
My room was not cleaned twice during the week, and overall condition of the room was poor.
The bed are very hard too with disgusting pillows.
Only booked for two nights, when we checked in the staff were lovely and welcoming, they told us where the nearest local transport links were and where would be some good spots nearby to grab food and/or snacks.
We had opted for a room that didn't have a window so that we could more easily adjust to the timezone difference. Worked better than we expected, so if you do book a room like this - I'd recommend setting an alarm for yourself. The mattress was a bit more firm than most would be accustomed to in European countries, but my partner and i loved them! Was such a comfortable sleep after a 16hr flight. The wifi was a little fiddly at first (each room has its own private connection which is linked to the TV) but eventually got the hang of it and it was smooth sailing!
If you're looking for a hotel thats clean, safe for leaving your things, and a comfortable sleep whilst you explore the city - would definitely give this location a go!
These kind of accomodation should not be listed as it gives visitors a negative experience of Singapore.
The 3rd floor corridor smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. Room was a windowless closet and there was dust on the surfaces and the tv remote. The bathroom smelled bad despite keeping the toilet lid down and the bathroom door closed. We passed the night wearing medical masks to sleep. Bedsheet was gauze thin, likely a disposal sheet and the pillowcase felt unwashed from the previous guest.
The room was nothing like the photos depicted in Hotel's website. We booked this hotel based on the pictures looking normal and thought that at the price of SGD 120 it should be a decent budget room. As the room was barely habitable, it only served the job of resting overnight after returning from Penang Malaysia and heading for Changi Airport the next day. We checked out first thing in the morning just to avoid spending another 10 minutes in the nausea-inducing room. We would rather ride the clean air-conditioned buses and trains to spend the hours before the flight than remain in this room till the usual check-out time.
Key takeaway is to avoid budget hotels in Singapore and to book weeks early to get lower prices at, plus double the budget for a reputable hotel name. Alternatively make the extra effort and cross the causeway to stay in Johor Bahru for less in a decent hotel.
Toilet had weird funky smell. Rooms were not clean. Staff were not helpful

Aircon went out the second night, it was 90F degree, no way I could stay in the room. Given another room with no windows, and with toilet paper stuffed into the air vent. Feel too disgusted and left the hotel to find alternative lodging at 11pm.
