"We were only here for three nights but loved the time we had here. It was welcoming, spotless and our fridge was stocked everyday with breakfast foods, even bacon. The kitchen was really well stocked as was the rest of the house. For us, instead of being lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves at night, we were able to hear the river and drop off to sleep with that beautiful sound, it really was a luxury home away from home. Thank you"

"We were first offered a room with bedroom upstairs. When I said I could not cope with that for health reasons, we were cheerfully offered a ground floor room instead. This one of the best motels we've ever stayed at. To find it in small town NZ was a delightful surprise. We'll be back. It deserved an excellent rating."

"Mieliśmy bardzo udany pobyt w Tongariro River Retreat. Ian naprawdę bardzo się stara i jest wspaniałym gospodarzem - ogromnie dziękujemy za wszelką życzliwość i pomoc!!! Pokój był czysty i wystarczający na 2 dniowy pobyt, dodatkowo do dyspozycji Gości jest bardzo przestronna i w pełni wyposażona kuchnia a także bardzo przestronny salon. Serdecznie polecamy i z całego serca dziękujemy za gościnę!🙂"

We asked for clean towels and came home at night to find the dirty towels still, even though we had been told we would have clean towels left. The room had not been serviced. Rubbish bins were not emptied. There were two doors. The door to outside would not lock from outside. The door that went into an inside passage was badly fitted and the room was not very secure. We had trouble with that lock too. The...
