"We as a family of 5 + a 3 yr old spent a delightful week at Penuwch Fach in July/August 2024. We were attending an interment and celebration of life nearby so the location was perfect. We were met by the owner and there was a welcome wine/biscuits plus tea and coffee. There is a Nespresso Gusto machine too plus a few pods :). "Could be a lovely hotel if more attention paid to lots of little things that add up. On the positive side - Our breakfasts were very good (other than a chipped breakfast cup). Staff were very pleasant. Good parking at back of hotel. Nice little bar area. Very comfortable bed with nice clean linen and towels. Then (if only someone paid attention to detail!), Sticky, grubby door handles and stair rails In the bedroom, coffee cup stains on the dressing table, a dirty pair of socks in the drawer, dried out contact lenses on the bedside table, crumbs around and behind curtain area, mould around windows, cobwebs, curtain off rail. In the bathroom, mould in the shower and paint peeling on the ceiling, rusty shower soap tray, dirt and dust around radiator and on door mouldings, mould around window and on glass. The room in need of a good deep clean, interior of drawers and wardrobe need wiping out."
