12. Chinuk Boutique Hotel

Puerto Viejo de Talamanca

"Overall it was a fine stay, but I believe it’s not worth the price paid. On one side it has hot shower, aircon, big smart TV, shared kitchen, great location and a comfortable bed; however on the other side it’s a bit run down inside the room, not properly finished & needs a deep clean on the shower. Our cabin was noisy from the unit upstairs and woke us up at 7am due to the noise, and there was also a water pump outside making noise every few seconds. The communication was also a bit poor when...

"We loved the Villas Andes so much. We stayed in Section F in Villa Caiman with a Garden View. The location was perfect for us and the accommodations likewise. The villa was much bigger than expected and we loved having a full kitchen which we used. There is a Supermercado close by and we shopped for our stay. The way the Villas are situated when you are staying in them, you feel like nowhere else exists. You are in a jungle paradise. We loved the section we stayed in because the pool and outdoor...

Hotel El Encanto

Cahuita

10/10 Excellent

My wife and I spent the first part of our honeymoon at El Encanto and simply stated, it was paradise. The grounds and room were breathtaking. There are two lovely pools and loads of wildlife could be seen throughout the grounds on any given day (or night). There was no fridge in the room, but we were able to access the fridges in reception at any time and filtered water is also available there 24 hours per day, along with coffee and tea. Staff were fantastic, especially Eden who really helped...

Atlantida Lodge

Cahuita

10/10 Excellent

Location is amazing, right on the beach but surrounded by the jungle. Spacious room, great facilities at the hotel, large swimming pool, excellent cocktails, and lot of variety on the menu. Only disappointment is the lack of selection at breakfast, and that it is the same every single day. Given the amount of exotic fruits that grow in Costa Rica, a more interesting selection of fresh fruits, juices and local dishes for breakfast would have been nice. The hotel is a ten minute walk from...

Namu Garden Hotel & Spa - Adults Only

Cahuita

10/10 Excellent

I had a good experience at Namu. The hotel looks new and very well maintained. The service is great all over and they do make you feel special. It is probably one of the nicest hotels in Puerto Viejo. Areas to improve: the pool needs more loungers as they get filled up very quickly; also some of the top floor master rooms are noisy, can hear everything the neighbours are doing and they need some work to seal the noise.
