Stylish and relaxing

One of my favourite hotels of anywhere I’ve travelled. A superb style all of its own and very relaxing atmosphere. Food is excellent and based right on the picturesque town square. You’ll love it!

Staff were exceptional throughout but particularly at Reception. A credit to the hotel and to Sweden. It's a nice hotel in good location and the breakfast is a superb. The common areas are really nice and relaxing. The downside is that the pool is part of the Spa and can not be used by "ordinary" guests. If you don't want the full Spa treatment you can't take a dip. The Classic Double that I stayed in had a large window into a closed courtyard facing other rooms with similarly large windows. There was no privacy and all of these rooms seemed to keep the curtains closed all day. I didn't spent a lot of the day in the room but that's a poor design.

There are better places around

Did not meet our expectation. We probooked the spa but did not receive it in time, room should be prepared with bathrobes and amenities. The guidance from the reception gave mixed messages on how to proceed and had us coming down to the entrance in bathclothes. Munken bar was amazing, the italian bartender made a really good drinks, especially reminescent of his take on the Boulevardier, best I've had. As was the Nami restaurant and the breakfast. All in all, the place has rather good potential if they could streamline the service.

The hotel is nice and clean, and the surroundings are just great. The roof top bar and restaurant is excellent. The personell in the reception takes down the overall experience though. This time when we arrived we hade booked a room with two separate beds, since I was travelling with my teenage daughter. When we came in to the room there was only one bed, made for two persons. I went back to the reception and told the staff, who in turn asked me to myself go and make bed sofa myself. Which I in turn asked them to do, since it was not advertised as a do it yourself hotel, and not charged as such. Did not find the staff either helpful or customer focused. This takes down the overall feeling and athmosphere. We also had a few complaints last time we stayed at the same hotel, only 6 months earlier, which we reported to the hotel management in their customer feedback survey. We never heard back from hotel management though, so it is unclear to us if this is somehting they even look at. We will choose another hotel next time we are in Varberg.

Swedish hospitality doesn’t disappoint

Hotel was pretty amazing. I would have preferred a room on a higher floor but other than that it was wonderful. Amenities were great beds very comfortable and nice linen and bath. Coffee in room great as well. Spa is terrific and the breakfast buffet delicious. Don’t hesitate to book this hotel
