"We had a great 2 night stay here. Location is excellent if you are heading towards the visitor center. The rooms are big with lots of space and storage. Everything worked fine. Room and bathroom were clean. Good thoughtful things were present in the bathroom such as toothbrushes and toothpaste. Their fridge and microwave and coffee machine also works well. Mattresses and pillows were comfortable. Extra bedding was provided if anyone needed. They let me checkin a little early which was great!...

"The Mermaid Inn is one of our favorite motels. The rooms are decorated with a Mermaid/nautical style with some retro appliances. Overall gives a very homey feeling. Rooms are very clean, staff is really friendly and helpful. Situated between a gas station/store and a Mexican restaurant you have access to fresh food and all the amenities you might have forgotten to pack. Like much of the Long Beach peninsula, the Mermaid is quiet and laid back...but still in walking distance to "downtown" and...

"I had stayed there in the past but did not return since I felt it was over priced for the room. Appears to have new owners, very polite, room was clean and roomy appears to have been refinished. Over all a very nice room in a quite neighborhood and reasonable rate."
