St hildas the best b&b in whitby

Brilliant from arrival to help with parking, tips of places to go, walking/running routes. It was our anniversary and we came back to a card this was true hospitality at its very best. The b&b was beautiful and the room luxurious, so a great nights sleep topped off with a great breakfast. So great i want to go again this weekend. I cant recommend them enough..

Wonderful!

A most beautiful Georgian home in a fantastic location, with wonderful hosts and a great breakfast (and slice of banana cake and fruit cake!). We had such a lovely weekend and Michael and Dawn really went the extra mile in making sure we did! We will definitely be back!

An anniversary made memorable

From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble, fresh fruit and flowers in the room to the individual dressing gowns & slippers . Everything to make your stay exceptional, the hosts Michael and Dawn were friendly and accommodating, the freshly prepared cooked breakfasts were amazing and gave us the fuel for the days indulgences, which included a long day of shopping. Would highly recommend a stay at St Hilda's house to all my friends and family. Thanks for making our anniversary a special one Virginia & Philip

Best place in Whitby to stay

Lovely guest house in a listed building. Run by a delightful young Yorkshire couple who pride theirselves on giving a superb hotel service. The full English breakfasts are of an exceptional standard. The exceptional clean rooms are not over large because of the fact that they are in a listed building which makes it difficult to enlarge the rooms. The en-suite bathroom has a shower cubicle rather than a bath but this fully explained in the hotel notes so was not a shock to find. Toiletries are exception quality and replenished as necessary daily. Tea and coffee facilities are via a Bosch Tassimo machine and are of an excellent standard and again replenished daily along with a fruit basket and a selection of soft drinks. If there is a downside to this guest house then it is the fact that there is no off road parking. Parking is via a scratch card type parking disc to be used in areas marked with a W. It is very hilly outside the guest house so it's best to park as high up the hill as possible. All is explained by the owners on arrival. All in all an exceptional place to stay

An ideal base from which to explore Whitby.

We stayed for four days and were appreciative of Michael and Dawn's concern that we were as comfortable, well fed and knowledgeable about the area as it was possible to be. The Georgian house has been completely restored, is situated in an ideal location near to a magnificent park and is within a five-minute walk of Whitby harbour. The art gallery and museum in the park is well worth a visit and the local restaurants provide a welcome choice of fresh seafood. Beyond Whitby, Staithes, Runswick Bay, Robin Hood's Bay, Scarborough, Goatland and Eskdale are equally well worth visiting. Visitors might also consider the return journey that can be undertaken by steam train from Whitby to Pickering. Wherever you go, you will start off with a full stomach.

Weekend Break...

A weekend break at St Hilda's House was a great experience. The hosts were very kind and helpful, the rooms very comfortable with everything you could need. A magnificent breakfast included to set you on your way. I would definitely recommend.

Wonderful Whitby B&B

Fabulous 2 nights in Whitby, wonderful hosts, scrummy breakfast, extremely comfortable room with everything one would require, great position - just a short stroll from the centre of Whitby. Would definitely recommend.

Family run real gem in a listed property. Central location in the center of the town by the park. Royal breakfast included. Spot on in every sense.

Wonderful Whitby Experience!

We had such a fantastic stay at St. Hilda's House. For me it is the little things that make a stay wonderful over "good". It is an easy walk from the train station and well located to all the Whitby activities. The owners were delightful. Upon arriving from a long journey, we were offered some fruit cake and enthusiastically welcomed. Our room was spotless and had many comforts such as an espresso maker, water, cookies, and fluffy robes. I enjoyed the history of the decor (family photos, local prints etc.) and old books available to read (have to page through Dracula when in Whitby!). The breakfast provided was exceptional and we were very impressed with this sweet and cozy B&B. We would highly recommend this to friends and family.

A great find

Excellent boutique B&B hotel. Owners provide some lovely finishing touches. Room was immaculate. Breakfast superb. Location was perfect to walk into town. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

If I could give them higher than 5 I would!

My wife and I have stayed in Whitby on many occasions over the years. This Hotel is the very best. Dawn and Michael go the extra mile. The breakfast is substantial. Fresh milk, fruit, chocolates and biscuits to enjoy in your room, along with coffee, tea and hot chocolate. You may think that this isn't unusual, but their is a plentiful supply of all them, replenished every day, not one or two if you lucky. The room was beautifully clean, had a very comfortable bed, lovely bed linen and thick soft towels and large luxurious towelling robes with super toiletries. The en suite had all that was needed and was scrupulously clean. We would have no hesitation recommending this accommodation to family and friends.
