ATV trip with Arcanum was highlight of our day (even though this was the day we saw the "big" waterfalls) rode along the ocean, through rivers, up hills, to whale bones and 'the' plane wreck. The wind was insane and there was driving sleet, weather we would never go out in at home, but we were toasty in our suits and never noticed the elements!

The famous Sólheimasandur Plane Crash - somewhat eerie but very cool to see. Definitely worth a detour ! Instructions on how to get here will be up on the blog in upcoming weeks. #WATravels #MyStopover
Icelanders have spent generations breeding their horses (the only type of horse allowed in the country) to withstand Iceland's unpredictable, and often bad weather and to be able to walk easily through the country's uneven, rocky terrain. They have a thick coat, are very friendly, and have two unique gaits, called tölt and flugskeið. You see them everywhere in the countryside, even more than cows! We saw this handsome guy on our drive between Skógafoss and Vík.

El personal siempre fue muy amable. La habitación estaba muy linda, bien equipada y las camas super cómodas. Teníamos un pequeño refrigerador, café y té. El baño estaba también de buen tamaño y había toallas para todos.

We saw the Northern Lights from the back window - amazing! Laundry room downstairs worked out conveniently. Great location walking distance from a grocery store too.

We were given a larger room than the one we had booked. The room had a stunning view of the ocean. It was very comfortable and clean in every way. We enjoyed our stay very much.
