"We enjoyed our stay . Our room was very spacious, equal to 4 star locations and the amenities were very good ( parking and restaurant ). It was an easy 5 minute drive into the small town which had more restaurants and shops. "I travelled to the hotel on a motorcycle through mountain roads in the hope of seeing the total solar eclipse on 12th August. The place impressed from the start, Welcoming receptionist and an aesthetic vibe unlike anywhere I've stayed, and the room merited the superior' tag - with a sumptuous bathroom, offering an unprecedented (for me) shower experience. Wonderful after the effort of getting there. A multinational group of guests enhanced the sense of being somewhere very special. The view on arrival evening was sunny and sublime, but alas a change of wind direction, as forecast, resulted in us being enveloped in cloud almost all the following day, including during the eclipse. Breakfast was freshly prepared and provided a wonderful selection of savoury and sweet, including fresh fruits. A heavy cold confined me to the immediate vicinity after walking down into Villaviciosa for food and some drink as the bar service was closed due to the staff being limited on eclipse evening, but our in-room refrigerators were kindly stocked with drinks to compensate. I wish, on reflection, that I had stayed a third night, not only because of the cold symptoms, but because it was such a relaxing setting. Another year, also, I would not choose months other than August for visiting the area again. Visit again I will, though!"
