"Excellent I can't understand why it's only rated as a two-star. The room has everything you need. Fridge microwave. Excellent shower. Full size bath sheets. Super comfortable bed and a large TV. What more could you want?. The location couldn't be better 10-minute walk and you enter the centre of Gloucester."

"Really enjoyed my stay here. I normally stay in modern hotels so this was a change for me. The town is lovely with narrow streets and old buildings so took a while to find the car park to the rear but that’s on me. From check in to check out though everything was an absolute pleasure. The young lady on the desk checked me in promptly and actually showed me to my room instead of just passing a key and having to try and find it in this quaint old building. Room was nice, fitting for the building...

"Great location, clean, everything we needed. Pleased to have allocated car space. Had an issue with receiving the access codes, which i had to chase up. But, staff were very good and sorted problem straight away. Overall, excellent!. We would stay there again."

"We had a lovely stay at the Royal Oak. Hannah was extremely helpful and was quick to respond when i accidentally deleted the message with the keycode! The room was extremely comfortable and clean. We had a superb meal in the pub, and the staff were very friendly. The room was peaceful and quiet, and we enjoyed the views and a glorious sunset. "The apartment we stayed in was perfect for our stay as a basis to explore Gloucester and the northern Cotswolds. The docks with a choice of restaurants is in walking distance, parking for the car at the back with easy access. Beds were super comfy. Everything was clean. Perfect. We will be back! "
