Learn more about Dunalley

This charming fishing village offers fresh oysters straight from the bay and scenic views along the historic Denison Canal. Rent kayaks to explore the waterways or time your visit for the Dunalley Waterfront Café's legendary seafood platters when local fishermen bring in their catch.

Just 45 minutes from Hobart, Dunalley is a small town by the sea with a canal and swing bridge separating it from the Tasman Peninsula.
Affected but also in a way spared from annihilation which could have befallen them in the disastrous fires that roared through the area in January 2013, Bangor Wine & Oyster Shed sits above the town, overlooking Bangor Vineyard, Blackman Bay, Marion Bay and Norfolk Bay where some of Australia's best oysters are grown.

Now it is a stop on the way to or from Port Arthur or a retreat after work on Friday nights when it is open in summer until 9.00pm. Award winning wines, cheese & antipasto platters and dishes of the day plus great coffee make this one of my favourite weekend call-bys.
