"This is a hidden gem. Yes, it was outdated BUT given that I started coming to Tahoe in the early 80s, I actually really appreciated the older vibe. When I arrived the keys (actual keys) were waiting for me on the office and I was able to let myself in. I loved that. The room was tidy and clean. This place is DIRECTLY across from one of the last open access beaches on the north side of the lake AND it was right next door to several great dining options. Once settled in my room walked the strip that has many options for dinner an shopping. Room was comfortable an at night it was very quiet. Check out was very simple with phenomenal service. "The location is good just 10 min away from alpine meadows. It is a beautiful view of the river from the room. The room was smaller than it looked in the picture and bathroom was outdated but all functional and rustic feeling to it. I have no complain for good price I paid. Grab and go breakfast was really good and highly appreciated it before hitting the slopes. We dined at the restaurant too. It was a good experience."

"Northstar units are generally old. This unit was also old, but has updated appliances, which was nice. The longer dining table and two full couches were also nice to have. They do not have benches for the dining table as shown in their pictures. They only have four chairs. The unit was in the perfect location. So physically, the unit was great. However, the management was not great. The person who gave us the keys was very sarcastic. His office was a total mess. I thought I went to the wrong...

"Absolutely amazing place. Our dog was super happy the entire time as well. The view was amazing!!! The host Alvina is such a sweet and funny person. This place looks and feels like a cozy, rustic German/ Austrian cottage. Exactly what we were looking for. And the location was perfect!"
