"This place is a special stop to add to your trip. The owner is the sweetest person I have met and she will take good care of you. This is not in town so you must contact the owner for a pickup. If you are doing a border crossing have your snacks money etc before staying. But to stay here and enjoy the owners homecooked meals, the quiet of the rice fields and the comforts of these little cabanas is a nice refreshing experience. As a solo traveler this gave me a little piece of "mama" energy...

Der Komfort entspricht vielleicht nicht den üblichen 5 Sternen, aber dennoch sollte man diese Art der Übernachtung mal gemacht haben. Das Highlight war die Aussicht ins Tal bis zum Mekong und darüber hinaus bis Laos. "We were booked in and prepaid, but when we arrived we were told to “wait”. I mentioned we had a reservation. We waited 15 minutes or so, until a man arrived in his truck. Without even asking our names or looking at our reservation, we were told to get in the truck and be taken to another hotel. No room at Baanfai was there only explanation! We stayed at a very plain hotel a few minutes away. Thankfully the man driving and the ladies who served us breakfast were kind and helpful. Unfortunately,...
