"This may be the nicest two star hotel I have ever seen. First of all spotless, elevator that worked, very comfortable room, particularly considering the price. Bathroom, modern and convenient. "Access to this hotel is via the sister hotel up the road. This is where reception and breakfast are located.
The young man on duty spoke good French but was completely unhelpful and without a grasp of customer service - when I explained the dangerous condition of the lift, he tried to defend it!
