"Room was clean. Facilities adequate. Tea /coffee kettle provided. Kettle too biv for tap. 2 night stay but room was not cleaned. Hotel as advertised by the name situated in its own grounds driveway is a steep gradient. Bannister for steps from driveway to front patio worse than useless and in serious need of repair. DISABLED ACCESS NON-EXISTENT. Price was very reasonable hence the 4 stars."

"Staff were very welcoming. Rooms were fine - clean, shower good. Squeaky floor boards & soft bed but what do you expect - it's not a chain hotel. Tasty breakfast. Parking out the back a little tight but its free! But this is really nitpicking. I'd book it again if in York again."

"Was a bit unsure of what to expect as a 50yo but this place was fantastic & I didn’t feel out of place whatsoever. The staff are super friendly & helpful. Our room was really comfy (designed with neurodiversity in mind). I think my bed was actually a hospital type bed but it was sooo comfy & I could change mattress settings etc. The room was also voice activated too which was quirky. You can use the communal kitchen too to make yourself drinks and prepare food etc. They provide tea and coffee...

"The hosts were very pleasant and helpful. The property is unique and very comfortable. There are stairs and no lift . Parking is OK round the back of the hotel although a little tight for large vehicles. I would definitely stay at this place again ."

"I stayed at the new hostel on King Street that replaced the old building very suddenly. As a result they are still in the process of setting it up but even so it is still welcoming and pleasant. They must've worked really hard to get it ready so quickly. My room and bed were excellent and I imagine nowhere else offers such great value in a major city centre on a Friday night. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were modern and clean and the kitchen offerings were very generous. I enjoyed my coco...

"Overall very happy with my stay although discovered the cutlery at the end of the stay and being small having essential items on the highest shelf wasnt the best. The accommodation was central although noisy due to local bars. The fire alarm went off at6.25 on Sunday morning and it was gone 8 before the security arrived to turn it off. "
