"The pool was ok (not great, nothing special). The room was ok (not great, nothing special). The room we got was directly on the road, which is across the street from the beach, so it was pretty close. But the way they greeted us and the lack of kindness or flexibility was disappointing. We found just about every single person we met in Belize to be lovely, friendly and genuine. But the people who worked at the hotel seemed unhappy and annoyed. We arrived 22 minutes before the official check in time of 2pm. They said our room was not ready, fair enough (though I heavily suspect that it was and saw no one go in or out of our room while we waited). But when I asked if we could sit by the pool while we waited, she said no. There was literally one couple sitting by the otherwise empty pool, we’d clearly be bothering no one. Her reply was “the amenities are not available until 2.” There was no reason for this, it was dumb and a crappy way to welcome someone. No one smiled, they didn’t even say hello when we walked in, just looked at us. I had to initiate the interaction, not the end of the world, just not what you expect in Belize, or in customer service in general. She seemed annoyed by our presence in fact. Also, don’t be fooled by the “rooftop” there is no furniture, tons of bird poop. Good for a quick photo but not by any means a place to hang. The experience was sufficient, but not great. There are many many places to stay here, choose one that actually wants you there."

"This was the start to my Belize-Guatemala solo birthday trip, and the staff here at Island Magic, made that start a beautiful one! They decorated my room with the balloons, and fake rose petals, spelling out “Happy Birthday” on the bed! Beautiful touch! The room was clean, they provided bottled water. The manager was so nice she gave me a hug on my birthday, and specifically wished me a happy birthday, and upon departure. She was also instrumental in helping me book the Shark Alley snorkeling tour, which I just called dining with the sharks. Lol. There was a brief issue with small ants after the rain, but I reached out, and someone came up promptly (less than 5 mins) to remedy the issue. I loved the chill vibes, and the hammock. The restaurant was great, and the food was delicious! The entire staff at Magic Grill was so nice and helpful. It was suggested to me to order the sambusas, by the waiter, and I LOVED them. I had them a couple times! Don’t hesitate to book your stay here! The staff went above and beyond to make me feel at home. Any question I had was answered, when I needed a taxi, they called it. Overall, beautiful experience!"

"This place is such a hidden gem due to its newness. Love that it is off on the north island so you can enjoy some peace and quiet but having the luxury of the scheduled ferry boat to take you to the South Island is really great. The room is very clean and modern. Also the bar/restaurant staff are incredible and they have some great eats. "
