"Hotel Camburi Praia is a very basic hotel in a small, country village 2hrs south-west of Sao Paulo along the coast. I stayed there for a work engagement. Camburi village is a typical of the area; rustic, weather-beaten, but welcoming enough. You should have some basic knowledge of portuguese though to get by. Hotel Camburi Praia is just off the main street running through the village and about 150m from the beach. It's a very basic hotel (my room 34 was a bit dated, but comfortable enough)....

Keep in mind that the staff only speak Portuguese, so having a translator is essential if you don’t speak the language."

"O hotel é aconchegante, no geral limpo, áreas em comum, quarto limpo, banheiro com lodo nos azulejos, não só no rejunte. Sauna boa, mas também com lodo nos azulejos, jacuzzi tonha que esperar 30 minutos pra aquecer mas não aqueceu, tem que ficar apertando um botão pra sair o jato mais forte. Água estava limpa mas depou que ligou começou a aparecer cabelos por toda a jacuzzi. "Beautiful hotel, amazing staff, gorgeous beaches. I came here from the United States, thankfully I was with my Brazilian girlfriend who translated for me, even so this is a hidden gem for any American tourists with some Portuguese skills or access to Google Translate. 10/10 would recommend, while it may not seem like a typical American tourist location, to those willing to be a little more adventurous this could be the perfect place!!!"

"We are passing through Sao Sebastiao and stayed for two nights there. Right next to bus station. 16 minutes walk to ferry to cross over to ilhabela. 10 minutes walk to the promenade, with lot of bars and Resturants. Good breakfast and free coffee and tea and snacks all day. Staffs and the woner are very friendly and accommodating. Perfect stay for us."

"What a relaxing stay! I enjoyed the fresh fruit and juices each morning for breakfast. The staff were very friendly. Special shout out to Joel who speaks English and helped me a lot! The room was very clean, and I especially enjoyed the well functioning air conditioner and ceiling fan. Nothing beats sitting by the pool or in their comfortable sitting area at the end of the day with a nice, crisp glass of white wine. Also loved that I simply had to tell the staff at the beach what Pousada I was staying in and they provided a chair, umbrella, and table for me for the day, included with my stay. Would definitely stay here again! "

"I HAVE STAYED HERE MANY TIMES AS WALKING DISTANCE TO BALSA FOR THE FREE FERRY TO ILHABELA IF YOU ARE A FOOT PASSENGER & I DON "T MIND THE EXERCISE TO BURN OFF SOMR CALORIES!HUGE BREAKFAST CHOICE & ENJOYED TRYING GROUND COFFEES FROM THE INSTALLED MACHINE BUT YOU CAN STILL HAVE NORMAL COFFEE AS WELL SO EVEN MORE CHOICE!ALTHOUGH FORECAST HAD NOT BEEN GREATG I HAD A CHANCE TO DO SOME LENGTHS IN THE SPLENDID POOL.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED."
