"The location of the hotel is very good for us , but the door key didn’t work , we needed to go down to reception every day to get it re activated , which was annoying because we had already gone upstairs. The internet was not working until we got a code from reception although we registered our name and room number several times and that only worked for one day . Otherwise everything else was fine . The room was clean , the breakfast was nice ."

There was some road noise outside with the windows open, but double glazing and air conditioning meant that wasn't an issue."

"The Hotel San Marco is a modern hotel with every amenity for the traveler, including hotel bicycles and umbrellas! The location is just a few safe, walkable blocks to the historic walled city. A large buffet breakfast selection starts the day, and a glass of wine at the pool area is a welcome rest at the end af the day. Every staff member is cheerful, helpful and accommodating. We highly recommend this hotel."

"The room was old world 1900s with a deep tub but it was to short for me but there was never ending hot water. The restaurant had an excellent octopus soup. The breakfadt could hsve been better if they kept it in warmers. The eggs were cold but the fruit and fresh juices were delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. On Sunday’s the vendors bring out tables to expose their wares while the locals parade around in their sunday best It was quite delightful. I would definitely stay there...

"We found the management of the hotel to be wonderful, friendly and very helpful on giving us guidance of where to eat and shop. They even went to the trouble to ring some of the business to assist us. The hotel is so close to the station and is about 25 min to Florence. The rooms are very comfortable warm and breakfast is a treat. Can’t recommend it highly enough, we loved 4 days here. "

"Hotel Villa Ambrosina is up a steep hill with Commanding views of the Tuscan countryside from the top, it was a 15 minute drive from Florence and we parked in a big car park just inside the city walls which was great. The hotel is slightly dated, reception were helpful and there is a separate restaurant on site, the road to the hotel is narrow but there is a better alternative route!"

"Stayed in the the Junior suit with a balcony and beautiful view. The staff is so friendly and helpful like a big family! Typical Italian rustic style but very charming hotel. Lucca only about 8 minutes away by car. Will come back again! Breakfasts are the same every day which is a bit boring . We would like to have more options like a fruit salad / soft fruit and tomatoes and eggs to choose from. Other than that - lovely place to stay. Thank you all for looking after us . "We stayed for two nights. We loved the room and the staff. It is close to the trolley but far from the city center. Cabs are not easily accesible and need to be called by the staff. If you have no problems with public transportation, this is the right place to stay! "
