Top Yakumo Hotel Reviews
Toyoko Inn Hokkaido Shinhakodatehokuto-eki Minami
10/10 Excellent
"Very clean room and good breakfast."
Hotel Grand Toya
8/10 Good
"Location location location! It’s on the water and smack in the middle of the strand! The water tours leave in front of the hotel. Great Lake views! If you come in summer they do fireworks show on the lake and you get a front row seat. Higher rooms get a better view. Rooms are clean and the staff were very nice. Meals were a set menu and good value for the price. The facilities were dated and worn and they really need to fix the lighting in the hallways as it looks dark. The onsen is quite small and could use a facelift. Unfortunately you don’t get a view from the dining hall or the onsen. Regardless I’d go back again as the hotel is good value and the staff were very nice."
Spa SHIOSAI
8/10 Good
"Very beautiful sea view hotel"
Toyako Onsen Hokkai Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"This seasoned hotel turned out very satisfying to me. Though at one end of the beach park, it boasts a great view, with access to spacious beach front. Just as the picture of its exterior onsen spa shows, you can see the mountain at the far end of the lake. Also the check-in time is not as restrictive as some online review complained (before 6pm) so more flexible for a busy travel schedule. The staff is courteous and responsive to guests' need when they observe it. The only challenge for guests is, lack of Japanese language skills may restrict their communication with the staff. But this creates a real motivation for repeating guests to pick up some common tourist Japanese. And another possible annoyance is the residue smoke smell, if you are really sensitive which I am luckily not. So in short, I would love to stay in this hotel in my next visit to Lake Toya."
premium-lake-toya
10/10 Excellent
"This is a gem of a hotel. Located on the edge of the lake with an amazing view. The hotel has a genuine Japanese vibe. The rooms have baths with hot spring water. The hotel staff have variable english skills but they are very helpful. The nearby village has lots of great restaurants. 30 minute drive to Rusutsu."
Muroran Prince Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Reception helpful, nice, enthusiasm "

What is the difference between a 4-star and 3-star hotel in Yakumo?
The most obvious difference between a 3- and 4-star hotel in Yakumo is the quality of service and availability of creature comforts. Three-star hotels are typically more budget-friendly and come with the conveniences and services you need to be comfy, such as breakfast, WiFi and a gym. You can count on a little more at a 4-star hotel — think upmarket interiors, luxury bathroom products and extras like spa centres.
What is the difference between a 3-star hotel and a motel in Yakumo?
A motel is an excellent choice if you're getting ready to road-trip around Yakumo. These properties are typically located close to airports and highways, feature on-site parking and have basic services and amenities. Check in to a 3-star hotel and you'll be more centrally located. With a larger range of rooms and additional amenities such as a lobby, gym and meeting rooms, you can expect to pay more for hotel lodgings.
